Noob Lager question

First time trying a lager and have a question. After I am done the primary I was going to transfer to keg put it on gas and just let it sit for a few months.

My question is do I screw it up if I put it on gas right away?

Nah. Just don't put a lot on it. 5 psi or whatever.
