Checking in from Charlotte, NC! Pitched the yeast on my third batch of mead this morning, and excited to give a Cyser a try on my next batch.
Excellent! Thanks for sharingClean equipment with unscented OxiClean and soaking + scrubbing, then rinsing and drying, before putting equipment back into storage. Then, before use, spritz everything with StarSan and let air dry for a couple minutes before using.
edit: forgot a couple of actual best practices...
Use a gallon jug of DISTILLED water to make your StarSan solution, otherwise the StarSan will go bad in just a couple of weeks.
Get a spray bottle such as this and use to give your equipment a quick mist of StarSan.
When your gallon jug of StarSan+Distilled water is used up, go out and buy a new jug of distilled water -- the acidic StarSan will slowly eat thru the thin plastic jug if you reuse same jug repeatedly.
