Newbie from OR

Hello,

My only previous brewing experience is with a "Beer Machine" kit (like the Mr. Beer), where you just add room temp. water to a mix. It was a gift...but I am bored with it. I just brewed my first batch of "real" beer, and I am just using the beer machine as a fermenter.

It is going to be a raspberry imperial stout...2 days fermenting and it is coming along nicely. The only book I have is "Extreme Brewing" by Sam Calagione...it fits my tastes pretty well.

Love the forum, have learned a ton already. Looking forward to getting some more serious brew gear at Christmas and really going after it!

Welcome from another recent addition to this excellent community! I grew up in Ashland and my folks now live in Boring (yes that really is the name!), out east of Portland sort of on the way to Mt Hood.
