I wanted to ferment lagers and have better temp control. My conical wont fit into any fridge or freezer under $600, so I was time to buld. The results are butt-ugly but it works like a charm. The controller on the right outside is an Inkbird ITC-308 and you can see an Inkbird IBS-TH2 in the bottom left corner to alert me of runaway conditions. I've got a hair dryer connected to the heating plug and the chest freezer is a 5.0 cu ft Insignia model picked up at Best Buy new for $135. The plywood box is insulated with Foamular 250 (2"). Maybe I'll paint it white some day
