Hi all! Been inactive a while. My wife and I built a house and moved in this past May, and are expecting our first child in December so things have been hectic.
I wanted to start this post as my personal journal for this basement brewery build. I’ll update it as work gets completed but I don’t have a major deadline. Just as time allows.
Here’s what I’m working with. It’s an unfinished basement as I wanted to design the layout for the brewery, but I had rough in plumbing done for a basement so I (hopefully) don’t have to jackhammer up concrete. I started working on installing the drain for the utility sink today, so I just tied it into the sink drain for the soon to be bathroom sink. I plumbed in a secondary vent since it’s not connected to the main stack.
I’ll be brewing on a 120v Clawhammer system. I hope to finish the utility sink installation this week (water lines and faucet) and then maybe I can brew next weekend.
I haven’t decided yet if I will run a fan over the kettle and vent outside or to the steam condenser route.
Thanks for looking! I’ll update as things progress and get more organized.
