My aunt spent a few weeks in Germany and brought back a pound of grain. Apparently they eat it as a beer side snack and she thought my dad would like them. He wasn't a big fan but knew I was into AG brewing so he passed them my way.

Problem is, she has no idea what type it is. I am guessing it is a base malt. Seeing as it's from Germany, maybe a pilsner malt? Anyone with a keen eye able to identify them so I can use it appropriately? If not, I might just throw them in a random recipe.

Virtual beer too anyone that helps me out!

I got my guess on Munich malt. A little more malting than a base grain to make for a tastier snack. I always nibble on my specialty grains they have more flavor

I've seen crystal in some decorative containers in a few brew pubs. Perhaps it's some crystal; brumalt maybe. It would be easy to verify by the sweet sugars and crystalline structures inside.

I can tell that it ain't 6-row :D (kernel size is too big and 6row is not highly regarded over there)
