Hi,

I just finish a batch of Hitachino Nest White. I got the receipe from the book Clone brew. I was suppose to get 1.052 and I'm at 1.15:confused: !!!

I did not miss any steps. The only special thing in that beer is that you need to add 2 cups of freshly squeezed orange Juice at the end of the boil (juste before cooling the wort) That would add a lot of sugar but....

Anyway what should I do, more water in the primary?

Well, its seems that its not a good idea to take a sample without having mixe your water and your wort proprely.:cross:

Since it was not proprely mixe with my added water, the sample was pure wort...

I good!

Cheers! :mug:

Yeah, the sample you test for OG has to be taken when the volume of wort is what the recipe says for the final volume. IOW, if it's a 5 gallon recipe and after the boil there is less than 5 gallons you need to add water until you get back to 5 gallons, then take your sample (after thorough mixing).
