I reuse US-05, usually get 3 generations out of each packet. I use 05 for many styles: Pale ale, Amber, IPA, etc, American Wheat among them. I noticed that ones you use 05 in a wheat beer, the yeast mutates to something resembling WLP320 (American Hefe). If you reuse it again in a Pale Ale, you'll get very pronounced banana flavors, just like if you just used a wheat yeast.
Did you guys noticed something similar too?

I would guess you are getting carry over from your last beer unless you are washing the yeast.

I've reused 05 several repitchs without getting anything besides a neutral character despite the beer style.

I have not tasted any banana notes from 05.
