Moving thermostat in GE mini fridge

I got this 4.5 cu ft GE mini fridge from craigslist and I'm not sure if I'll be able to fit two 5 gal kegs inside with the thermostat where it is. I've read on other forums that removing it to relocate it farther back in the fridge is easy and I assumed I just had to remove the single screw and it would pop off. I was wrong. Something is still holding it firmly attached to the wall and I don't want to pull too hard and break something.

Anyone know how I can move this thing back while keeping it operational?

That is probably just the T-stat cover.

Pull the control knob straight off towards you and that cover may lift off.

It was so simple! Thanks a lot for the ultra quick solution. The knob pulled off and underneath was the other screw. Now I was able to bend down the freezer plate. Next I'll be drilling two tap holes in the door.
