I am about to use my Monster Mill today for the first time. It came out of the box at .040". Wondering what other people have ended up setting their gap to after trial and error.

Cheers! :mug:

i think i had a thread of similar theme when I got my MM about a year ago. Consensus was the width of a credit card, i think it's a nice crush and i've been getting in the high 70's efficiency batch sparging. :)

For typical barley grain I use 0.55mm (0.022"), and for wheat I use 0.41mm (0.016").

I condition my grain about 15 minutes prior to milling, which enables me to go this tight. It's worth it considering the boost in efficiency. It got me from the mid 70's to now I rarely hit below 85%.
