Howdy folks,
My past 3 brews have come out quite tasty (i.e. no infection, no DMS, etc.) however I have noticed a metallic twang present in each. I used tap water (Lake Michigan) with a campden tablet. My past three brews have been: a kolsch, a hefe, and an Irish stout. All had a faint metallic flavor.
I am convinced it is coming from one of three places:
The water. (Minerals content?)
Immersion Chiller (copper boiled for 15 minutes)
Brew Pot (though it is Stainless Steel it has burn marks from the electric coils on my stovetop. See the below pictures of brew pot.)
I am hoping someone in this fine community would have any insight. Please let me know if you have any advice or require more info.
