Mashing with BrewBag with HERMS system

In an attempt to reduce cleaning time I bought a brewbag to put in my mashtun in my 1BBL HERMS system. Previously I used a standard false bottom and dip tube and would occasionaly get a stuck sparge. The problem seems to actually be worse (but now I can fix it) with the bag in place...does anyone else do this? And do they have a setup where they do not use a true false bottom but maybe something else that doesn't promote stuck sparge? I think I read somewhere that someone used the bucket that came with their turkey deep fryer way back.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks

How fast are you pumping? One thing I've observed about bags on top of drilled false bottoms is the effective drain space is still just over the holes. If you lay in a coarse wire mesh in between, it would hold the bag off the surface and allow more draining.

I pump wide open thru 1/2 copper. I was thinking something along the lines of what you suggested...I figured I'd just check in to see if someone else has built a better mouse trap.
