I dont have a spare fridge to lager in but used a room with no heat and opened a window to cool it off. Its been a cold winter but one day my room got up to 71.

Im using a wyeast California lager that recommends 60 for the primary and lagering.
Since it went too high the one day, would it be a waste to re-pitch this yeast now?

Not sure what you are asking. You mean you were lagering an already fermented beer and the ambient temperature got a little high? You've already got beer at that point, no need for more yeast.

Or do you mean you had some yeast and weren't storing it in a fridge and it got a little warn and want to know if it is okay to pitch? A brief exposure to 70 degree temps isn't going to do more damage than whatever had been done by not keeping it in the fridge in the first place. It would probably be fine.

But if you lager somewhere its possible for temps to run up to 70 degrees then you might not be lagering cold enough in the first place. Lager temps should be at least 10 degrees colder than fermentation temps. 35-40 degrees typically. There are some ways you could keep it cooler without a fridge. Look for the "t shirt ice bath" method on this site.
