keg question

I have a tapped corny keg in my kegerator. My question is if I want to force carb a second keg if I disconnect the gas line from the currently tapped keg will it hold the gas while I force carb the new keg ? I ordered a dual system and it will arrive on friday but I'd like to have my new batched carbbed by then so I can drink it this weekend. Any thoughts ?

If the first keg seals and poppets are tight it'll hold its carb level pretty much indefinitely. Folks do what you've described all the time...
