Looking to move to an electric brew system. Would like to purchase a 4500W element and know that I need 220 to safely power it. That being said, can the Johnson A419AEC1C be used to control the element? What is the correct wiring for 220? I'm pretty sure I understand it, but just would like to verify.

Thanks

ahh, and that is what i missed and why i ask. any recommendations besides building a control box?

thanks for the input

You could still use the Johnson or similar "under-powered" controller if you add a hunky external relay and a small transformer with an output voltage compatible with the relay coil. Use the Johnson to switch the transformer primary and you're in business...

Cheers!
