What an amazing album...several of my favorite traffic tracks are on it
And the tinker he can't mend kettle nor pot, without a little barleycorn!

For some reason
this makes me think of a quip that Tallulah Bankhead made around that same time: 'My mother warned me about men and whiskey, but she never said anything about women and cocaine.' Of course, she was fond of all four anyway... Ah, Tallulah.
Come to think of it,it wasn't Gabby Hays,it was Sheb Wooly dressed up like Gabby. And that's who Gabby Johnson was emulating in Blazzin' Saddles.
