I cobbled this porter together with leftover ingredients I had from other batches. How'd I do? The only ingrediant I bought specifically for this batch was the chocolate and the Carafa. I'd been curious about the carafa malts for a while and just wanted to try it. I transferred it to the secondary today and the initial taste is good. The chocolate flavour is the most prominent with coffee in the backgroynd and a slight hint of roast. Very smooth and clean taste already at 2 weeks old.

Yeah, a pound of chocolate malt will give you a big chocolate flavor and aroma. Should be good in a porter.

Carafa malts rock. I use them quite a bit.

Cheers
