I have an imperial stout that I brewed and I let it primary for 5 weeks, and then transfered to the secondary to let it sit on some cocoa nibs. It has been on the secondary for about 5 weeks.

The OG of this beer was 1.099. Would it be better to let it sit in the secondary for another 6 or 7 months and then bottle and let it sit for another 4 months, or should I bottle it now and let it bottle condition for the next 10 or 11 months?

This is a good question. I just went ahead and brewed a RIS back in September, and stored the secondary in my folk's basement in WI for the winter. I wonder if all that extra aging before bottle priming will pay off some how. End of April, I'll finally get to bottle it. I haven't seen it at all since I left it there. It's like a beer time capsule that I'm anxiously waiting to unlock.
