Hey there, people.

I'm a bit confused here. I'm reading the recipes and instructions all over HBT and most of the time people are talking in gallons, pounds, etc.
Since I live in a country with Metric system in use - I'm confused. There are 2 different gallons - Imperial and US. When one says that "you will need a 6.5 gal kettle for all-grain" - he means which ones of the two - 24.6 or 29.5 litres?

Same goes for the calculator - http://www.brew365.com/mash_sparge_water_calculator.php - is it in US or Impreial?

Thanks!

Always try to check the origin of the recipe. If it came from the states of quotes 6.5 gal,you can be quite sure they are using US gallons.
