How long is "ok" to let priming sugar solution sit?

I just made my solution to add to a beer and bottle but my wife made dinner plans and we have to leave. If I throw it in the fridge over night will I still be able to use it to bottle in the morning? I haven't opened the beer fermenter yet. I could just make more but dont want to waste the sugar.

If you cover it fairly tightly so that no nasties get in, I would say no problem. If you had put it in the beer on the other hand....

I'd just add a little more water and boil it again when your ready to bottle. I'd let it cool and put it in refrigerator for the night.
