How long do RV filters last?

Greetings all, I've been running my tap water for mashing/sparging through this RV filter:

I ordered mine in June of this year and am still using it, about two 5 gallon batches a month.

How long do these normally last? It says 'good for 3 months' on it, but I didn't know if mine should last longer due to the fact that I'm only using it a couple times a month.

Should I order a new one? Anyone have experience with these?

I use a different model, but I think they are all pretty similar. Mine is rated for ~2000 gallons.

Try to get most of the water out of it after each use.
