Hi everyone!

I've been a home brewer for a little over a year now and have loved every minute of it. However I recently moved from Canada to the United Kingdom and i've been having trouble finding a solid home brew shop.

Where i lived i had access to www.torontobrewing.ca which had a great selection of all kinds of hops, liquid yeasts, grains as well as tons of different types of equipment. It was kind of a one-stop-shop for everything I could possibly need.

but I'm trying to find something like that but for here in London (UK) and it seems everything I can find online is either limited in one way or another. Does anyone know of any home brewing shops that they'd recommend here?

Thanks in advance for your help
Duncan

Interested in this post. I'm actually moving near Cambridge next month from the US. But this is mainly a US forum. You could try one of the UK forums and ask there if no-one here knows

Hmm OK I'll find an English forum and let you know what they say

Try Homebrew Depot, they're in Homerton (twitter is @homebrewdepotuk). Ive never been though. Brewdogs bottle shop (Bottledog) also have a few bits. Personally Id just stick to online stores themaltmiller.co.uk is my favourite but brewuk are also really good, once youre here just do a quick search in Google and that'll turn up a few options. However, we dont yet have the sort of product range over here that you have in the US and Canada, but you should be able to get all the malt, hops and yeast you will need.

London has a pretty good homebrew club called the London Amateur Brewers (I think), probably worth checking them out

You can buy a few ingredients at Bottledog on Gray's Inn Road but it's limited and expensive. You can also buy ingredients at London Beerlab in Brixton and London Fields Brewery in Hackney, but they aren't really homebrew shops. Wilkosupermarkets stock very simple equipment for kit brewers. Most brewers in London buy online and have stuff delivered. I use Maltmiller and BrewUK.

I can't help you on the local store, but the best online shops are

http://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/ - biggest selection, uses a good courier
http://www.worcesterhopshop.co.uk/ - cheap hops
http://www.brewuk.co.uk/ - good selection (never used them but seen them mentioned)
http://www.homebrewbuilder.co.uk/index.html - brewkettles etc
http://www.angelhomebrew.co.uk/en/ ditto

http://www.thehomebrewcompany.co.uk/ - ireland based but good value shipping and good range etc. used these guys a couple of times

http://www.wibblersbrewery.org.uk/shop - brewery with a very limited range of homebrew ingredients
