Help me bypass keezer's tstat please!

I have a Johnson a419 controlling my old keezer. Lately the freezer control board has fried and I have to push a button on the keezer to get it to cycle on. I want the compressor to be on if the power is connected.

Attached is a pic of the wiring diagram.

I was just going to connect the L1 and P3 wires together.

I am not an appliance tech but I would say you need to disconnect p2 and p3 from the control unit and tie them together. Then you can plug it into your external controller and use that to maintain the temp.
 
Ummmm...you missed the point LOL. I have an external tstat that cuts the power for me.

I think you missed putting that in the OP. :)
