Heady Topper Kits from Farmhouse Brewing?

Hi all, I'm not normally one for kits, but I was looking at the ad for the Heady kit from Farmhouse brewing, and the numbers on the grain bill seemed low to me, especially since they claim it will give you a 8.5% abv beer. I noticed almost all of the stats below the ingredient list are double starred with no footnotes. Anyhow, I put the grain bill into Beersmith (Pearl is not in the database, but I'm assuming it doesn't have much of a different potential from 2 row), and beersmith is putting this beer at 6.3% abv at 72% efficiency. Am I missing something or does this pearl malt really have 30% more potential?

I found that, the recipe is exactly the same. I couldn't figure out how that much grain would give you an 8.5% beer, I just figured it out, it's because I didn't change the boil time from 60 to 90.

It looks to me like the recipe is at 70% efficiency. It hard to believe it's only five gallons total. Your going to loose a lot in those hops.

We actually increased the base malt just a bit (.5lb) on this clone. We decided to leave the recipe as is since so many were brewing it with the instructions here on HBT
