Hi guys have about 4 oz of Calypso hops.Want to use Magnum for 60 min.And the rest is Calypso. Any good recipe can you recommend for Calypso?
Thank you for your time.

A simple grain bill works well if you want to showcase hops. I do the following and will mash at 149F for a 6.5% abv IPA or 154F for a 4-5% pale ale. Maybe 4-6 oz/5 gal late addition hops for the IPA and 2-3 for pale ale.

90% 2 Row
7% Munich
3% Carapils

For your 4 oz, maybe something like this:

CALYPSO APA (1.050 / 5 gal)
9 lb 2 Row
0.7 lb Munich 10
0.3 lb Carapils
0.25 Magnum @ 60
1.5 oz Calypso @ 5 & 0
1 oz Calypso dry hop 7 days
US-05 yeast

This should give you around 30 IBUs. Moving the 5 minute addition to 10 mins will increase to about 40 IBUs. If you brew extract, just use 6.5 lbs light DME in place of the grain bill.

With their earthy tea and lemony character, they were fantastic in an English ipa I made last year. They blend well with English crystal malts and 007. If you can't get the English crystal malts, don't use American. Go instead for aromatic or biscuit.

They also made a tasty lager. But like the guy said above, go ahead and showcase them in an ipa to get a real feel for them, and then go from there.
