Most of the dubs I have found are un-watchable. They seem to negate the attitude of the character speaking.

Dubbing is poop, no argument. I remember watching Eddie Murphy in German....wow the whole effect was gone. One thing I noticed was that Germans recognise voice actors and will often say oh yeah he's the guy who voices such and such too....weirdness.

It was good, but could have been way better in my opinion...I think it should have been done in 6 parts instead of three

Glad to see it revived.

Copper was a pretty good first season.

subtitles are way better than dubbing. All the kung fu movies in subtitles would just be downright sad if they were dubbed.

Also need to check out Evil Dead 2 and Cabin in the Woods.

Trailer park boys, by the time you finish this series you'll wish you lived in a trailer park in Canada too. If you want to get the gist without watching the show they have a movie, Trailer Park Boys:The Movie that is the end to the show.

Cheers is another one that most have probably seen but if not its a classic. "how about a beer Normie?" "Ya I Hear good things about it"

WHAT TO WATCH TONIGHT MY BROTHERS????????

I get a night of rest (my girl is busy) and will enjoy some Horror or other good suggestion.

Well you could watch Stars Wars that's kinda like Passion of the Christ for you right? :D

I've watched the first two episodes of Longmire and liked them. Anyone watch the whole first season?

I loved it, Its based on a series of books, E2 of season 2 was on A&E last night. But I've been known to have bad taste apparently.

I'd say Revenge of the Sith better meets that criteria, what with the death of Anakin and his resurrection as Vader, the intro into the trinity (Palpatine, Anakin, Luke), and all the lava.

I cheated!!

Treated myself to "Mama" on Amazon.*NOT ON NETFLIX*

Freakishly good. the end could have been better, but it was so well done.

I loved it. I thought it was pretty brilliant in terms of satire and lampooning the American way of life.

Re-watched a couple episodes of Trigun recently. It was a pretty decent anime series. If Cowboy Bebop ever makes its way to Netflix, I'll be in heaven...

Agreed. They do a run on Adult Swim every once in a while but I would like to sit down and watch it start to finish.

It was indeed.

I think Sacha Baron Cohen does that though. Borat and Bruno where also good at making our skin crawl. Slaughter all sacred cows.

So I'm watching the first episode of a series right now I never watched before. I think it might have potential. It's called The Walking Dead.

Yeah... I'm playin' catchup.

Just a little potential.

The Walking Dead can drag a bit in places.

I have been watching The Wire for the first time on HBO Go, and man, is that a good show. How had I never seen it before? Not on Netflix streaming but totally excellent if you have the means to watch it.

On Netflix I have started watching Arrested Development over again from the beginning. I had seen the first 3-4 seasons previously, but it was long enough ago that I didn't really remember it very well, so I thought I should re-watch the earlier episodes before starting on the new ones. It's been great starting over from the first episode. I had forgotten some really great bits from that show.

Do you Roku? I started a "Good on Roku" thread, but it was too broad a subject. Netflix is on Roku, amazon is on Roku, Hbo go, PBS etc.

I just got into an argument with my cable provider, so I'm thinking of making the jump to Roku now.

It is more work. You can't just filp it on and zone out, but I think that is a good thing :)

*Pardon me as I wander farther off topic than the people I have admonished.....*

It gets better every week. I got in when Playon was offering a lifetime membership with purchase of a Roku. While it is almost the most useless channel on Roku, as a pay channel, it has potential and will have to improve or die.

PBS is fantastic, Nowhereman is fantastic, the search is AMAZING.

When you search for say...Return of the King (LOTR)

You get results on:
VUDU 9.99
Amazon 9.99
Blockbuster 2.99
and if it was on Netflix or any other channel (EVEN CHANNELS YOU DON'T HAVE!!!!!) it would tell you.

There are TONS of free channels. Classic movies, classic horror, Popcorn flix, Smut (I hate to mention it, but the biggest free porn Library ANYWHERE. It would be easy to never leave home and waste away if you were so inclined)

thanks for all the suggestions guys. I hate looking for movies on netflix.

My recommendations:

Restrepo (live war coverage; maybe the most emotional I've ever been watching a movie)
Breaking Bad - best tv show ever made
Big Lebowski - best movie ever made
The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia - most entertaining and effed up family on the planet

Old School movies:
Juice
Sling Blade
From Dusk Till Dawn

"Mercury makes a good car" !

I don't really surf. I find something to watch or I turn it off and do something else. Roku sounds like it's for me.
