Just recently kicked 5 gal. of vanilla porter that was flavored by boiling one split vanilla bean in with the priming sugar. The result was a wonderfully subtle vanilla flavor.
I am attempting to repeat the process using ginger and Arbol chillies in a Belgian IPA, I think it's going to turn out great, unless I over charged and end up with bottle bombs. Hope others have used this method for flavoring beers.

Cheers

My first attempt will be this Sunday.
I'm following a fine suggestion from Jaspers HBS.
My pumpkin spices have been sitting in an 8oz bottle of vodka for the last week.
Started it while the wort was cooling.
Smells great.

It's good to hear you've had great results.

I'm looking forward to the first taste after a couple additional weeks of bottle conditioning.
