Has anyone experienced a flavor change when transferring from one corny to another? I have a new 2.5 gal corny I use to take to parties, and whenever I transfer from a bigger corny into it, the beer just tastes differently...and not for the better.

My process is to sanitize and purge the 2.5 gal with CO2, then pressurize. I put a spunding valve on it, then push from out tube to out tube, trying to go slowly. The last two times I've killed the original keg in the transfer.

My initial thought was that I was rousing yeast and bitterness that dropped out. Then I wondered if I was foaming too much and the foam proteins were the issue.

What do you guys think?
