I am the anti-greenthumb, but despite my terrible gardening skills, I decided to attempt to grow hops! I ordered 5 cascade rhizomes from freshops.com. Florida is a tough place to grow hops due to the heat and heavy rains in the summer. On top of this, my backyard does not drain well. Having read a ton of information in this forum and The Homebrewer's Garden, I decided to plant the rhizomes in pots so I can monitor both Ph and soil drainage. All of the rhizomes are cascade. Cascade hops are supposed to be pretty hardy in most climates, so I figured I should start with these. Enjoy some day 1 photos. Hopefully they aren't dead by next week
