Ok. After a spring and summer long experiment of SMaSHes. I have figured out what my and SWMBO taste buds can agree on for a house pale ale.

So I am spending the winter fine tuning my first recipe. Advice please

Likes:

Malts

The clean and crispness of Golden Promise
The biscuity backbone of Vienna
A little sweetness from Crystal.

Hops

Full flavored hops that strattle many catagories. Like Nugget, Amarillo, Chinook, Northern Brewer etc..


Pale Ale recipe

5 gallons 75% efficiency

OG 1.051
FG 1.013
IBU 36
SRM 7

7lbs of Golden Promise
1.5 lbs of Vienna
.5 lbs of C40

Hops

.5oz Warrior 60 minutes (Because I have extra)
.5oz Northern Brewer 15 minutes
.5oz Northern Brewer 5 minutes

Yeast S05
