I just started a new batch of mead and I am not sure if I should add more water to it to bring it down a touch for the yeast to work well.
1.5 gal batch:
1 gal water
4 lbs wildflower honey
nutrients & energizer
Red Star Montrechet yeast
OG came out to 1.134
Will that be too strong for the type of yeast I am using? I have seen reviews that it can handle alcohol at 17 % but also ones that said 13%. Also saw one that said to watch out for too high of sugar or it may stall.
I had planned on adding 1.5lbs of black cherries later as well.
Anyone have experience with this yeast? Should I water it down a little?
Thanks
