I'm playing around with this idea. I know it's simple, but sometimes beer should be.
1 x 1.8kg Muntons Bitter Kit
500g DME
250g Crystal 60 (steep@68deg for 30min)
22L with a 5 liter boil
Hop additions: 30g Fuggles for 30min , 10g at flameout should add another +-5 IBU to the kit.
Yeast: Thinking of safale04 or 05 (leaning towards 04), but read somewhere that the muntons kit yeast is actually good.
I want a really low abv session beer with a smooth bitter taste. I'm calculating about 4.2%
Hope this will give me what I'm looking for.
Also going to carb at 1.7 CO2 (I like my ales that way)
Any thoughts? Greeting from South Africa!!
