Can someone please explain the basics of recirculation with BIAB RIMS setup?

I am already familiar with conventional recirculation in a RIMS with MLT that contains the grain bed.

I am also familiar with the basics of conventional BIAB.

With BIAB and RIMS, how does the bag and the grain bed seal with the side of the kettle? Is a false bottom used?

Thanks in advance.

In the system I'm building the kettle (18 x 18) has a basket (16.5 x 15) that the bag sits in. My element will be below the basket making it much more like s RIMS than a HERMS I suppose.

The bag in the basket will act like a false bottom, and sides for that matter. It should work.

As above. You can either have a RIMS tube or, as in watermelon's case, simply attach the PID to the mash tun / kettle element. From what I've seen, most recirculate back through the lid. Watermelon has a good thread on BIAB RIMS that might help.
