So yeah, don't do it.

I know many already know this but thought I would share.

I always liked the smell given off by fermenting beer and when I finally got a fermentation chamber (freezer) I couldn't resist.

I went in headfirst and took a deep breath of the CO2. Whoa! Takes your breath away and makes you feel like your about to pass out. Will never do that again...

On the other hand, once you know to expect it it is a handy way to check for fermentation! I also discovered a leak in my keezer by the same method.

Apparently I failed to throw a smiley into my reply. Regardless, given how many "I'm not seeing any bubbles, what's wrong?" threads we have here, airlock, much less blow-off, activity isn't always the answer.

Yeah, one whiff and there will be no doubt that fermentation has begun. :D
