Dog Food Storage: Alternative Fermenter or Keg?

I saw one of these at home goods and it got me thinking:

23 bucks for a 6.7 gallon container, with a screw on air tight lid, and handles! I wonder how much pressure this thing would handle - it felt pretty sturdy. Anyone have any ideas? I bet it could handle enough pressure to serve beer.

If that's the case, you'd just need 2 posts and a diptube. Could be a cheap mini party keg option if you pressurize in a corney.

Square is a poor shape for a pressure vessel.

I definitely wouldn't use it as a fermenter either. There's very little difference in price between that and a better bottle.



I think it would be a great container for grain though.

You know you are a homebrewer when everything you see you try to figure out how you can enlist it into your brewing equipment! Even the dog would shake his head at you when he sees you trying to pour a beer from his dog food container

These things are great as fermenters! Same thing as a bucket that everyone starts with. I use a few of them for another hobby that shall not be discussed on this site and they work wonders.
