I just graduated with a BBA and am looking for work, and most websites that are databases of job listings are filled with "outsourced consulting" or "third party marketing ..." which is code for "you go door to door and sell people cable."

Just thought I'd trawl a bit and see if I get some bites.

Check out VALIC on Allen Parkway in Houston. It's part of a company called SunAmerica. Tons of jobs are available where you don't have to go door to door.

I don't know anyone, but try utilities. Water, gas, electric. That sort of thing. They have admin needs. The pay isn't always great to start but benefits can be pretty good. And unlike companies that sell people what they want, utilities are a need. There be stability there.

You could also look into one of the big railroads. The pay is great, and the benefits are some of the best out there. The hours suck though.
