Just posted this over in /r/homebrewing, but thought it belonged here too.

So in typical fashion, I started looking into making my own BIAB bag as soon as I ordered one online. (Shout-out to biab-brewing.com - great bags, hands down best prices on custom BIAB bags for Canadian brewers.) After a bit of poking around various forums, it looked like there are two main designs out there: tapered pillow case (simple) and truncated cone (slightly less simple). I saw another spreadsheet to calculate measurements for both designs given one's kettle dimensions (don't remember where, sorry) but thought the spreadsheet could use some redesign/cleaning up.

Hopefully this spreadsheet can help someone else on their journey to all-grain brewing. Happy brewing/DIYing!

Just realized it might be useful to have a screenshot of the spreadsheet to give an idea of what it looks like without blindly downloading it:

Update - sharing a new link, something about Google's sharing settings changed:

I recently made a bag and was planning ot use this, however I couldn't figure out how I would get the conical pattern onto my material in an accurate way. So I did something like a combination where it's mostly cylindrical/pillow-case, though a little larger at the top for getting outside the kettle lip, with a round bottom piece like your fustrum shape. It worked well for my first brew.
