Howdy,

Was wondering if anyone cared to comment on whether cold crashing with too much headspace creates potential for the beer to be oxidized. Specifically referring to just cold crashing my primary bucket (regular ale pale size) or if I should transfer to a secondary vessel with less headspace.

Thoughts?

If you cold crash in your primary, there is a layer co2 above the beer to protect it, when you transfer to a secondary that layer is removed. If there is very little headspace in the secondary then I would be less concerned. So, primary should be no problem but a secondary could cause issues there is a lot of room
