so i had a problem with constantly running out of co2, checked all my fittings gave it a squirt of dish detergent and warm water, no bubbles...no troubles!

problem is now that my co2 gauge is showing 20 psi, i fiddle with the set screw to lower the pressure only to find it at 12-20 minutes later.

the beer is coming out like a garden hose!

any ideas, remedies etc?

The beer is providing the pressure.
Purge the keg with the pressure set low and it will creep up to the carb level of the beer. Purge a few times to lower the carb level.
My regulator will creep up 2 or three psi. I just set it to account for this.

If my keg gets overcarbed, I just shut off the gas to the keg until I've poured a few pints and then turn the gas back on. This way you use that CO2 to dispense while equilizing pressure and not waste any gas. It's also a good idea to set your pressure 2-3 PSI below target to adjust for creep.
