I just recently moved all my fermentation equipment to the garage. It has water supply but it's from a river. The water is kind of a yellow tinge either from sand or iron deposits. Some people drink the water straight. I'm wondering if it's okay to use this to wash bottles, etc.
I'm assume the starsan will do its job anyway.

I would recommend getting some water filters to filter out some of that sediment especially if it's iron, that stuff is hard to wash off.

I have really hard water too and when I moved in I didn't realize my dishwasher was out of rinse aid and after a week it looked like a pumpkin exploded in it, it was so orange.

Here we don't use the river/stream water without boiling for fear of Giardia (Beaver Fever).
