- Tasting Notes
- Very nice mouthfeel and an ever changing taste
Fermentables:
1 lb. Dingmans Cara 20 Malt
1 lb. Weyermann Pilsner 2 Row Malt
3.3 lbs. Coopers Wheat Malt Extract
3.3 lbs. Amber Malt Extract
1/2 lb Dextrose
3/3 lb Light Brown Sugar
Boil Hops:
1 oz. Palisade Hops (Pellets) @ 60
1 oz. Fuggles Hops (Pellets) @ 10
1 oz. Hersbrucker Hops (Pellets) @ 3
Dry Hop:
1 oz. Czec Saaz Hops (Pellets)
1 oz. Cascade Hops (Pellets)
This was kind of an interesting brew that was definately and experiment in moderate consumption whilst brewing. Moderate probably isn't quite the word... but I digress.
Long story short it turned out surprisingly awesome!
The only real "flaw" was that I had never tried to dry hop before this brew and thought I could skate by with using a muslin sack instead of a nylon bag. So as you can imagine I ended up with tiny flecks of hop floating in the beer. It was actually very interesting because while they were not big enough to be noticed while you were drinking, but it caused the beer to mature in very rapid ways. Thus this beer never tasted the same way twice!
