I keg, and rarely bottle, when I do I use a homebuilt bottling device courtesy of HBT.

I'm thinking about entering some competitions, but because I care all my beers at the same level, and don't get perfect carbing when I bottle, im worried that even if I send a good beer, bad carbonation would ruin my score.

Any suggestions? Maybe bottle carbing a few bottles each batch? Would carbing wrong cause much of an issue in a comp?

You just have to dial in each of your beers before you bottle them. If I know I am going to be entering a beer in a competition, I will bottle of a sixer or so from the keg once the carbonation is good. Even if my beers need different carb levels, I dial each one in before I bottle them.
