I am trying to locate some parts for my chill wizard. They are listed as MIP and FIP. To be honest I am unfamiliar with this thread type though from what I understand MIP/FIP and NPT are the same thing

http://www.brew-magic.com/ketl_acc_adaptors.html

Both NP1020 and NP1021

They have them listed on Sabco as 1/2'' in FIP and MIP. The tri-clamp adapters I have come across on brewing sites only offer 1'' NPT at the smallest. I know this sounds stupid but what am I missing? Could someone please point me in the right direction for these parts?

Male/female iron pipe thread... I'm guessing its just a non tapered thread. In which case I'm also guessing an npt fitting would work just the same. I think brewershardware.com sells em with npt.

At my job i see a few different thread names that equal the same thing from what i can see i think a lot of it has to do with the industry it is used in.
