I have a one gallon batch of apfelwein with Nottingham going I know my juice is 1.05 I added a half pound of table sugar. Can someone guess what my sg will be.

I ordered a new one, so I'll know what the fg is.

Thank you very much

You can estimate the starting gravity if you know how many ounces (or lbs) of sugar are in the juice. If the juice itself before you added any sugar had a gravity of 1.050 and you added 1/2 lb then you increased the starting gravity by about 20 points (there is 40 points in 1 lb sugar in one gallon). If the number 1.05 means something else but you know how many calories are in the juice or how much sugar is in the juice then it is fairly simple to calculate the SG.
