Hello All,
I came into a keg coupler that seems to be beaten and battered a little. The outside has still got the layer of {chrome?} plating covering it but the inside, the beer channel, looks like it may be bare brass.. Keep in mind this is an older coupler. (5-10 years?)

Are there any implications that I may run into if it is a brass surface?
Will I die?
Will it effect my beer?

I'd appreciate any input

So you all think it'll be fine in constant contact with finished beer?

Untreated brass will corrode pretty quickly. It probably won't harm the beer directly in any way, but it'll make it harder to keep clean. I'd use it in a pinch, but I'd keep looking for a better one. There's almost always a few available for cheap on craigslist.

The only thing that gets me is that it's so smooth, not pitted or anything. I'll see if I can get a picture, maybe it's not brass.
