So brewed my first extract beer a couple days ago, mostly everything went well aside from some clumping from the dry extract. Also, completely forgot to pick up a hydrometer before the LHBS closed. But the real problem I have is that I added 6 of 9 lbs of the extract with 15 mins left in the boil without making hop adjustments to my recipe. A couple days later I plugged in the recipe to beersmith and instead of a 70 IBUs I'm looking at 111! For a ~6-7% ABV IPA, this looks like it's going to be severely unbalanced. I know not having the preboil and post boil gravity readings is going to make this a bit inaccurate, but is there any hope this beer won't be a bitter bomb?
