Beers to try in Frankfurt.

I'm leaving for Germany for work and was wondering if anyone had any suggestion on beers to look for on Frankfurt and surrounding areas.

I personally like Dunkels... You can't go wrong with most of the german beers. Anything that is on tap will better than most anything you have had in states.

Frankfurt is home of bitburger, blah. You will be in Hessen, so you may not find to many Bavarian beera, but that is what I would go for. Even if you had them here in the states, they taste better there. One of my local non hefe favs is tagensee. It is from the alps, hard to find, but a great beer

Train to Wurzburg, or another hourish to Bamberg...drink anything in sight....Done.

Train to Dusseldorf, go to the Altstadt, drink as much altbier from as many different breweries as you can. Find your favorite, then drink more! I prefer the altbier from the Brauerei im Fuchschen myself!
