Can I shake her even though I already pitched....about 10 minutes ago?
My damn neighbor came by and talked my ear off, AND I TOTALLY spaced on this

Whether you aerate then pitch, or pitch then immediately aerate isn't a life-or-death consideration for your wort. Either way, yeast need oxygen at the outset of fermentation to propagate cells. After fermentation has begun and especially when it is done, you want to do everything possible to NOT introduce oxygen to your beer.

In fact, Papazian recommends oxygenation AFTER pitching.

Palmer doesn't specify whether to aerate before or after pitching, so I guess I'd take that to be "it doesn't matter". What Palmer does emphasize is to not aerate the wort if it is over 80F, which causes oxidation.

OK, I shook the **** out of it. Oh, and I forgot about the stir bar in my starter and dumped that in there too. Damn that guy!!!!
Didn't even have a sip of beer the whole brew day LOL.
