Just bought a four pack today- 12 bucks in CT for this triple IPA.
I love the hop content. Fragrant and almost peach-like in flavor.
I feel like triple IPAs might as well be hoppy barley wines- this one perhaps poorly designed. I noticed this also with devil dancer. This Alpha Seeker was sugary sweet due to a really high OG that probably couldn't find a reasonable FG. Remarkable pale color considering what the malt quantity must have been.
This beer taught me a lot about balance. It's possible to increase the OG to a ridiculous level, but the finished product can only be balanced so much with up to maybe 120 Ibus. At some point I feel like the residual sugars are too overwhelming.
Am I the only one generally not impressed with some of these extreme IPAS?
