Hi there. I have my first 5 gallon batch fermenting now. Boil was last night, and I'm happy to see and hear the activity in the airlock so soon. My airlock is a plastic 2-chambered deal that came with my kit. The thing is, the airlock only has liquid in the left chamber. The right chamber is empty. Will this function ok? Should I mess with it? Thanks.

it is fine.. if it is the S shaped one, the pressure from the co2 is pushing everything to one side. that means it IS working.

Ahh, thanks for the peace of mind! I've previously only used Mr. Beer, and it's nice to see and hear the airlock activity. A step up into another league for sure!
